HOW DO I SET UP A NEW NO OBLIGATION ADVERTISERS ACCOUNT?

First, register as an advertiser, which is free and takes less than two minutes. If you have already registered you do not to do so again. Once you have registered, our system will instantly generate an advertisers account unique to you. From here, you will be able to create your no obligation advert(s) for your holiday home, hotel, bed and breakfast or whatever type of property you wish to rent or sell.

Follow these eight simple steps to create a new, no obligation holiday property advert for your holiday home.

1: Click the Create A New Advert link.

2: On the next page, from the Property Type dropdown list of options, select either, Option 1: No Commission, For Rent or Option 2: No Commission, For Sale. On the same page, in the Advertisement Headline box, enter a short appealing headline for your advert & then click the Create My New Property Listing button. Our system will then automatically create a new advert and assign a unique Property ID number to that advert.

3: On the next page, enter your holiday home descriptions and tick the various facilities and items which apply to your home and click on the Save button at the bottom of the page. Make sure you tick and select ALL items that apply to your holiday home as our search systems use the information in this section to better place your advert in relevant search results.

4: VERY IMPORTANT: Select your homes location from our location system. If you do not complete this part, our search system cannot see your advert so it will not be able to include it in any property search results. Typing where your property is located in your main property description area is NOT entering your homes location details. You MUST select your homes location details from the location options in our location system.

5: Upload your holiday homes photographs using our photo uploader facility, which allows you to upload your photographs from your computer hard drive directly into your advert. Your first four photographs are included in the standard advertisement cost and for each photo thereafter we charge a very small see.

6: If your holiday home is for rent, enter your rental rates. Firstly select the CORRECT rental rate basis for your rental artes as this cannot be changed without deleting all rates entered and starting again. Once you have selected the correct rental rates basis, example, per property per week, per property per day, select a Start Date and an End Date. When you have done this, select your preferred currency, €, £ or $ and enter your price for that particular date band. Repeat these steps until you have entered all your date bands and prices. You should enter rates for at least 12 months ahead. If you do not enter rental rates your holiday home will not appear in search results where there has been a maximum price selected.

7: Before you decide to order your advert, you can preview it to be sure you are 100% happy with it and if necessary, you can make further changes.

8: When you are happy with how your property advert looks, click on the Pay For Your Advert link at the top of the page and follow the simple 3 step secure ordering process. We will have your advert Live on our site within 48 hours (excluding weekends & public holidays). We have most adverts live within a few hours.

I HAVE A HOLIDAY HOME I WANT TO SELL, CAN I ADVERTISE THIS PROPERTY ON YOUR SITE?

Yes of course. You can advertise a holiday home for sale or a holiday property to rent. The advertisement cost is the same for either option.

WHAT WILL MY HOLIDAY HOME ADVERT CONSIST OF?

Your holiday property advert will consist of a large advertisement property listing and four photographs, which enlarge when clicked on. Click here to view a sample of a standard advert. You can also enhance your advertisement to maximise bookings for your property by using our unique Special Offers and Late Deals facilities.

DO YOU WRITE THE DESCRIPTION FOR MY PROPERTY ADVERT?

No this is the responsibility of all individual advertisers. Property owners are in the best position to write the description for their property. You can edit your property description at anytime both before and after you confirm your advertisement. We suggest that you type your description on your computer first so you can get it just right. Remember, we allow you to have a very detailed description of your property and surrounding area. Tell guests why they should rent/buy your property, about local attractions, things to do, famous landmarks or events, etc…Once you have your description just the way you want it, use the cut and paste facility on your computer to paste it into the relevant section on your property web page.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: For security reasons, if you have not clicked on the Save button within 15 minutes, you will be locked out of your administration centre and any information you have entered will not be saved. We recommend that you click the Save button every 10 or 12 minutes.

DO YOU CHECK THE CONTENT OF EVERY PROPERTY ADVERT?

Yes we check the content of all holiday property adverts before they appear on our site and on a daily basis after they are Live on our site.

CAN I DECIDE ON THE LOOK AND LAYOUT OF MY PROPERTY LISTING?

Unfortunately no.

HOW SHOULD I SEND YOU PICTURES OF MY PROPERTY?

There is no need to send us your holiday home pictures as you can upload them from your computer directly into your advert and they will instantly appear in your advert. We strongly feel that it is very important that every property is shown at its best in order to maximise its rental or selling power. With this in mind, we allow all advertisers to change any of their holiday home photos at anytime without charge.

I HAVE MORE THAN ONE UNIT ON THE SAME COMPLEX DO I HAVE TO PAY TO ADVERTISE EACH UNIT?

No as you can use the large description box to list details for each of your extra units but we do not recommend doing this. However, you can only input searchable rates for one unit size. In this case, we suggest you enter the rates for your cheapest unit as this will get your holiday property featured more often in search results, as site visitors generally search for holiday homes offering the lowest rates. Rates for your other unit sizes can be listed in the Extra Page section of your advert.

If you need additional space to list extra information, you can also buy the Extra Page facility for a very small extra charge to list details about your extra units and also list the rental or sales rates for your extra unit sizes. The Extra Page will appear near the bottom of your property web page. You can also have up to 12 photographs on your holiday property advert. You get the first four photographs free with your advertisement. Each additional photograph costs only €2 per photograph. You can add a brief description to each photograph, example, 1 Bedroom Apt, 2 Bedroom Villa, 3 Bedroom House etc…

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY REGARDING COPYRIGHT?

It is the sole responsible of each individual advertiser to ensure they have all relevant copyright permission from the relevant source to use any information they use on their property web page. This includes copyright permission for all text and photographs they intend to use on their property web page.

WHAT CURRENCY CAN I SET MY RATES IN?

Because the €Euro, £British Pound, and $US Dollar are the three most commonly used currencies in the world, we have chosen these three as our main currencies in which to set your rates. Your rates will also be displayed on your web page in another 13 of the worlds most commonly used currencies.

When you first set your rates, select which is your first choice currency, either €Euro, UK£ or US$. Whichever one you chose to be your first choice currency will be displayed in the first column of your rates table and an equivalent amount of the 15 other currencies will appear next to your first choice currency.

You will also have an option to include rate notes directly under your rates table. You might want to say you only accept payment in €Euro, or only UK£, or only US$, or any of these currencies. Basically, whatever message you feel is most important in relation to your rates you can display in your Rates Note box. You can also change this message as often as you like without charge.

CAN MY LOCAL CONTACT PERSON'S CONTACT DETAILS APPEAR ON MY ADVERT?

Yes of course. You simply enter the contact details you want to appear on your advert in the Contact Details section of your advert. All online enquires will be instantly emailed to the email address you enter in the Contact Details section. This email address is hidden from the public. You can change any of the contact details at anytime.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY ADVERT & IS YOUR PAYMENT ONLINE FACILITY SECURE?

Yes our online payment facility is secure. The easiest and quickest method to pay for your advert is by Visa, MasterCard, or Laser Card. We also accept payment by cheque drawn on a bank in the Republic of Ireland, Bankers Draft or Postal Order made payable to Selfcatering-HolidayHomes.com. We accept payment in cash provided you send it to us by registered post, however we are not responsible for any cash sent to us by post even if you send it by registered post.

HOW CAN I GET MY ADVERT TO APPEAR HIGHER IN SEARCH RESULTS?

Our search system displays the advert with the most recently updated property description highest up on search results. To have your holiday home advert appear higher up on search results more often, you should log into your advertisers account on a daily basis, or at least once a week, and update your main property description area. You do not have to change any details in your description. Simply click into your main property description area and click on the Save button at the bottom of the page. You can do this as often as you wish.
